这是Deborah Cox翻唱的Something happened on the way to heaven，收录在01年时出版的一张向Phil Collins致敬的Urban唱片中，是整张专辑中我非常喜欢的一首。
本来就非常喜欢老菲的原唱，还记得那天中午买到他90年那张专辑的打口磁带时的激动，当时听的真是酣畅淋漓，兴奋了一中午。这首歌老菲的版本很棒，强劲的节奏（不愧当年鼓手的老本行啊，呵呵），再加上流畅的旋律，虽然他唱了什么不知道，但就知道这首歌很好听。
后来买了那张urban专辑，看到了Deborah的名字。她其实是个加拿大的二线RB女星，嗓子不错，很清脆，也很湿润，年纪也不小了，但就是不红，呵呵。对她最初的印象是她和Whitney Houston合唱的那首Same script,diferent cast（现在回想一下，还是觉得这是首猛歌，女人的心计和辛酸表达的淋漓尽致啊）。后来听了她这首翻唱，由于我先听过了原唱，不得不说，她的版本真的很惊艳。首先，没有了强劲的摇滚节奏，代替的是脆脆的钢琴和不紧不慢的RB节奏，然后她的演唱也是从容中透着忧伤。最厉害的是她把那段CHORUS改成了柔美的吟唱，在吟唱的background衬托下，她逐渐将声线抬高，在即将结束时爆发到顶点，唱出一系列婉转尖锐的高音，很厉害，最后用漂亮的高音来了个利落的结尾，只剩下一串慢慢隐去的背景吟唱。用一种很柔美的方式表达出了失去原本完美的爱情后的那种撕心裂肺。
